Why Outfits Make Photos Pop

The right outfit highlights bub’s charm—tiny toes, soft skin, pure magic. These hacks deliver:

  • Fast: 2 mins to choose—no endless searching.
  • Easy: Just clothes you own—no fancy buys needed!
  • Wow: Adorable shots—mums save memories, pros get happy customers!

Others might say you need pricey outfits or pro styling—nah, my way’s safe, simple, and nails it. Let’s dress that bub for stunning shots!

1. Go Soft and Simple

Struggle: Fussy outfits upset bub.
Fix: Choose soft, stretchy onesies or wraps in neutral colors like white or cream or earthy tones, with a parent nearby to adjust. For newborns, a muslin wrap works magic (like in the pic below!). For 6-month-olds, pick a loose cotton romper, parent holding for comfort.
Tip: Avoid buttons or zippers if they irritate your baby —they can pinch delicate skin!
Safety Tip: Ensure outfits aren’t too tight, always check bub’s breathing—super safe!

2. Match the Mood

Struggle: Outfits clash with the vibe.
Fix: Pick outfits that suit your shoot—cozy knits for sleepy newborn shots, light dresses for 12-month-olds’ playful pics, parent securing bub. For sibling shots, coordinate colors like pastels or earthy tones, adult close (pic below of coordinating colours well, note the cute crisscross overalls on baby to add interest to the photo).
Tip: Lay outfits out on the floor beforehand to see what pops!

3. Skip Over-the-Top Accessories

Struggle: Big bright bows or hats distract from bub.
Fix: Use tiny headbands or soft neutral/earthy toned bonnets for newborns, nothing covering their face, parent nearby. For older babies, you may need to skip accessories altogether to focus on their natural glow as they may pull off their hats/headbands. Avoid heavy or loose items.
Tip: A knit bonnet adds charm without stealing the show like in pic below!
